Lifeboat Lowering Gear Servicing under DNV, RS, RSU

The top classification societies Det Norske Veritas (DNV), Russian Maritime Register of Shipping (RS), Register of Shipping of Ukraine (RSU) have attested Marko Ltd to comply with the standards and requirements in respect of performing “Servicing of lifeboats, launching appliances and on-load release gear in accordance with SOLAS 74 Regulation III/20 and IMO Circular MSC.1/Circ.1277”, namely examination and operational testing (annual, in the time sequence within 5 years and after repairs) of:
1) Release gears with fall wires and winches for lifeboats and liferafts, MOB dinghies;
2) Release gears for the free-fall lifeboats;
3) On-load hook release gears and disengaging devices of life-saving appliances;
4) Lifeboats for their strength and waterproofness.
Marko Ltd is today the only company in Ukraine certified by the major deck hoisting gear manufacturer D-I Davit International GmbH for examining, periodical operational testing, repairs, mounting ships LSA and lowering/hoisting gears.
Service engineers of Marko Ltd are attested as well by other lifeboat lowering gear top manufacturers as Viking Life-Saving Equipment A/S (Denmark), Electric Engineering Ltd (Ukraine).
The works are supervised by a Class Society in compliance with requirements of SOLAS 74, Chapter III, IMO Circulars MSC.1/Circ.1206/Rev.1, MSC.1/Circ.1277, a Manufacturer’s Guide, and Flag Administration Rules.
As a result of ship’s lifeboat lowering gear survey, an original Examination Record and Statement of Fitness are to be issued.
